2023~
As a Public Communications Specialist, I provide written communications for donors, including fund acknowledgements, fund stewardship reports, and articles for our magazine. I also function as our graphic designer—providing videos, one-pagers, brochures, cards, digital materials, and large displays for various events, marketing and communication, and cultivation efforts. I’m also currently managing our social media, partnering with other schools and units to promote the work of the College. Outside of my direct tasks, I have also put forth several initiatives for project management and tracking metrics for my team. I have also been a partner in planning our next campaign, providing data and story-telling ideas for marketing our campaign priorities. I work across several teams, including our annual giving team, our development officer team, and the general College’s marketing team. In this role, I continue to utilize our database, while also branching into Salesforce, for communications with stakeholders and partners.

2018-2023
As an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, I led classrooms for second-language English speakers and planned all curriculum for the students. As a foreigner working abroad, I gained valuable experience adjusting to cultural norms, understanding Korea’s personal and professional culture, collaborating and working with global team, and exercising my creative side by teaching children ages four to thirteen.
-
2013-2018
Beginning as a student worker, I have had a diverse career in fundraising for non-profits, focusing on marketing and communication efforts to spread awareness and impact and cultivating relationships with funding partners. As a university student, I worked at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I led efforts for donor engagement through written correspondence, events, and grant proposals. In this role, I became familiar with successful marketing language, partnering across teams to target new donors and cultivate existing donor relationships through written communications. I also became fluent in maintaining our CRM (database), tracking giving metrics, events, activities, and interactions. I provided grant language and donor correspondences that communicated Morehead’s mission and identity, which was to serve all 100 counties in North Carolina.
